Waist Training: Friend or Foe

ÑWith summer approaching..FAST women and men alike are trying to slim down and have begun working on their summer bodies! And it’s not easy; counting calories eaten and burned, finding effective exercise plans to tone trouble areas, and keeping our skin clear and glowing through this change.
…so when we hear of a contraption that could slim our waists in less than a few weeks and minimal effort involved,  OF COURSE I checked it out.

The idea of a waist trainer is that you wear them for a certain amount of hours a day and they will mold you into a slimmer , thinner form!

Now to the big question: Should you try it? Well…probably
not.

When you wear this 500-year-old device, you squish your lungs and ribs, which makes it hard to breathe. (Duh.) Some women have actually passed out from wearing one for too long, says Christopher Ochner, Ph.D., weight loss and nutrition expert at Mount Sinai Hospital. And if you keep wearing it for an extended period of time? It ain’t pretty: Think crushed organs, compressed lungs, and fractured ribs.

So the next time you want to try a new Fad, why not switch to cucumber water or skipping the carbs, NOT a $50+ fallacy.
